During the workshop you'll learn:
This class great for anyone who enjoys taking pictures of people. It's geared towards aspiring pros, whatever thier current level. If you choose to persue photography as a job or side hustle, this class will help you make money!
People Photography is rewarding, fun and a great way to make money. It's also can be a nerve wracking, for you and your subject, but it doesn't have to be!
Flashes are constantly improving. The Chinese brand Yongnuo now has a several good options on Amazon and make for a great first flash, and work well with off camera options. Be careful not to buy a manual flash, it must say "TTL" in the description for on camera use. Please give me a call on to discuss the latest flash model options.
A technical camera, such as a DSLR or mirrorless, will let you get full value from this class. A simple point and shoot can still be used, but there will be parts of the class that are not available to simple camera.
You can take this class alone and not take any others. However, it builds on the knowledge of the classes Better Composition and the 3 part class Understand Your Camera. We won't cover the fundamentals of composition, or basic use of shutter speed and aperture in this class.
So yes, you can just take this class, but unless you have a good understanding of your camera, and you want to cover the technical aspects of this class, I strongly recomend the other two classes first. Better Composition is an "All Levels" class and is certainly recommended, whatever your current level.
Frequently people take this class first, and end up coming to the others after. While it's fine to do that, you'll get better value and understanding the other way round.
3 hours long. It's packed with tips to improve your photography. You'll be amazed how much you'll learn in such a short time.
This class is held at the Colorado Photography School's Downtown location. We'll start in the class, and optionally, in the immediate vicinity in the downtown area.
