Lightroom Classic CC

Organize & Edit Your Photos

The Lightroom version for this class is "Lightroom Classic CC", part of Adobe's "Photography Plan" and "Lightroom Plan".

Skill level: beginner to intermediate

The great thing with digital photography, is we can process all our own photos, so they look just how we want. The downside of digital photography is we have to process ALL our own photos to look just how we want! The control is great, but processing lots of photos can be a chore. Adobe Lightroom is amazing software. It can automate and batch process many repetitive tasks, fixing common issues with white balance, or exposure. Image editing, cropping and resizing images ready to print, all become simple tasks.

Click the full screen icon
(bottom right corner of video).

Editing is only half the story, Lightroom is a powerful way to organize your photos. It's not unreasonable to think in the next few years you'll have 1000s of photos on your computer. If you don't start organizing now, you'll wish you did later! Preparing pictures to share, in print or one the web, is now much easier.

This software will allow you to easily process RAW files in a few clicks, to allow you to unlock the full potential of your DSLR. Set your DSLR quality to RAW or RAW+JPEG now to start building your library of RAW files to edit later. You'll learn why RAW is awesome in the class, and I can help you set up your camera if you're not sure. Just email or call me (Simon) on (719) 502-9045 and I'll talk you through it.

Two 3 hour classes (6 hours total), or a one day, 6 hour session (with 30 minute break).

Please bring the computer you intend to edit images on to class, as we create and set up templates during the class. If that's a desktop, please plan to arrive around 15 minutes early to set up the computer so everything is ready by the time class starts. Images will be provided for the class to work on together. An external hard drive with a capacity of at least 1Tb will also be useful, but is not required.

The class does not include the software, which is available as a free trial from the Adobe.com website, or subscribe to the photography deal (2 copies of Lightroom and Photoshop) for $10 a month. If you would like advice on how to purchase the software please call (719) 502-9045 and I'll be happy to help.

I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your Lightroom class and have started to work with it at home. I appreciated the small class size and your willingness to answer all questions."

– John Marcotte

I learned a lot more about my camera and how it works, and my favorite part, [Adobe Photoshop] Lightroom. Now, I feel like I can take a 'Photo', not just a snapshot."

– Brian Coram

A day trip or tour is a non-regularly scheduled class and includes all classes and workshops to destinations outside the city limits of Colorado Springs.

  • A trip/tour will not be cancelled due to cold so please prepare. Down jackets, lots of layers and pocket warmers are a good idea!
  • Be sure to bring sufficient all weather gear, as the instructor will not ask other photographers to leave a location if they are prepared to stay because others are ill prepared.
